Always Say Yes
About 10 years ago, Willy became a widow. She wasn’t used to being “in charge,” but learned and adapted very quickly. A simple idea gave her the courage to go forward. A friend who had lost his spouse at about the same time told her that whenever she gets an invitation, always say yes—even if you don’t want to go.
Facing Forward
Dressed in baggy white pants and t-shirt with a thick belt securely cinched around my middle (not a look I have ever embraced), I stood at attention at my first Taekwondo class. The self-talk jumped briskly from amusing to frightening to irritating.
